At the open Committee Meeting following the AGM, it was mentioned that RCR had introduced discounted membership for moorers at ABC Marinas. Are Castle Marinas in discussion with RCR to do something similar? If not, would you be prepared to try to negotiate something similar for moorers at Wigrams and Ventnor? If there are no plans, then VMMA will approach RCR – but the bigger the potential pool of boats, the better the chance of getting a discount.

We have contacted Stephanie at RCR to see if we can negotiate a deal/discount for the Castle Marinas group (or Ventnor/Wigrams). We’ll let you know the outcome of the discussions.

Steve Chapman has found out that ABC Marinas have increased all their moorers fees by £30 in order to provide everybody with the basic level of RCR membership, with no option not to have this. If the moorers want a higher level of RCR membership, they can upgrade to that higher level with a 20% discount. Steve felt that it wasn’t right to impose RCR membership on all moorers with a commensurate increase in fees – RCR would not offer an option if only some of the boats at Ventnor participated.
