Minutes of the 5th Annual General Meeting held on 14 March 2020 at 2pm at Stockton Football Club

The Chairman explained that following a risk assessment paying particular attention to the coronavirus it was decided that the Woodland Lounge was too small a venue to enable people to attend the meeting and keep a reasonable space between each other. The meeting was, therefore, moved to the closest larger venue available at short notice. All Members were sent an email notifying them of the change. Details were put up on the VMMA facebook page and on the website. The Marina staff were provided with posters to put up around the Marina. The Chairman pointed out the fire exits.
As more than 4 people were present the meeting was declared quorate.
2020/01 Apologies for Absence

2020/02 Minutes of the 4th AGM held on 16 March 2019
The Minutes of the 4th AGM held on 16 March 2019 had been circulated with the Meeting Papers. The Secretary advised the meeting that a correction was needed to the Apologies for Absence – apologies were received from Hugh & Jan Brooman on Mosame (not David & Val Butcher who were on the list twice in error. Once for their own boat Maria Jesse but also for Mosame.). Georgina Hodgson proposed that the Minutes be approved, Sue Boswell seconded this and the motion was unanimously carried.
2020/03 Committee Report for 2019
The Secretary confirmed that all Members of the Association had been sent a copy of the 2019 Report on the Association, which gave details of the membership, events, etc. for the year. A copy is appended to these Minutes. There were no comments from the floor. Alistair Hodgson proposed that the Report be accepted, Sue Barrett seconded the motion and the meeting unanimously approved the Report.
2020/04 Accounts for 2019
The Secretary confirmed that all Members of the Association had been sent a copy of provisional Financial Statement for 2019. – which had not been examined. A copy is appended to these Minutes. The Chairman asked if there was anybody not connected with the Committee who would be willing to act as examiner. There were no volunteers. Ken Barnes proposed that the accounts be accepted as provisional and subject to review. This was seconded by Robbie Barrett and carried unanimously by the Meeting.
2020/05 2021 Subscriptions
The Committee recommended to the Meeting that the subscription for 2021 for Full and Social Members should continue at the rate of £5 per member for the full, or part, calendar year. Sue Barrett proposed the motion, Jayne Glover seconded it and it was carried unanimously by the Meeting.
2020/06 Election of Chairman
Phil Boswell advised the meeting that due to changes in personal circumstances he was unable to stand as Chairman or as a Committee Member. There were no nominations for Chairman and no election made.
2020/07 Election of Secretary
Gillian Chapple said that she was prepared to stand as Secretary for the next year. She was nominated by Sue Barrett & seconded by Georgina Hodgson. There were no other nominations & Gillian Chapple was elected Secretary.
2020/08 Election of Treasurer
Michelle Barnes had advised that due to pressure of work she was unable to stand as Treasurer or as a Committee Member. The Chairman asked if there was anybody willing to stand as Treasurer – there were no volunteers. Gillian Chapple said that as nobody was prepared to stand as Treasurer, she would be willing to take on the role as there was quite a lot of duplication of record keeping in connection with membership records, provided that at least 2 other Committee members were signatories to the bank account. John Daltrey nominated Gillian Chapple as Treasurer, this was seconded by Dave Glover and Gillian Chapple was elected Treasurer.
2020/09 Election of Committee Members
Ken Barnes, Robbie Barrett, Sue Barrett, Alistair Hodgson and Georgina Hodgson all indicated that they were prepared to serve as Committee Members for the coming year. The Chairman advised that there could be up to 8 Committe Members and asked if anyone else would volunteer to join the Committee. Jayne Glover volunteered. As the number of volunteers did not exceed the maximum number of Committee Members, all 6 people were nominated by Gillian Chapple, seconded by Phil Boswell and unanimously elected as Committee Members.
Gillian Chapple proposed a Vote of Thanks to the Officers and Committee Members who were stepping down – their contributions to the Association, in some cases for several years, were much appreciated. She presented Phil and Sue Boswell with gifts on behalf of the Association.
There being no further business, the Chairman drew the meeting to a close. He invited all present to remain for an open Committee Meeting.
