STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL
From the Marina – March 2016
The Marina would like to re-introduce some degree of waste recycling to the site.
Apparently, previous re-cycling options at the marina failed on 4 counts:
1 Confusion over what could and couldn’t be re-cycled – which was thought to be due to people living in different areas with differing Council approaches to what was recyclable.
2 The vehicles collecting the refuge were too big for the approach road
3 Contamination was so high that on occasions collections were refused collection. High levels of contamination increase the cost of the rubbish collections.
4 Materials such as WEEE regulated and hazardous were put into the bins including batteries and waste oil.
The Marina are going to try to get some recycling going by arranging for a bottle bank and they ask that all Moorers use the recycling facilities as indicated on the bins.
